Out of a passion for adventure motorcycling in the great outdoors an after market, light long-range fuel tank is now available specifically for the BMW R1100GS, R1150GS and the R1150GS Adventure.

This high tech tank is South African designed, developed and manufactured to standards typically used in the Aircraft Industry. Accelerometer, pressure and impact testing has concluded Structural integrity of tank.

In September 2002 in the Kaokoland region of Namibia, extensive trials were conducted on three prototype tanks.

Kaokoland was chosen as a test ground because of its vast diversity in terrain necessary to extensively test the main design criteria. By all accounts, they performed superbly. Because of these very successful trials, the tank is aptly named the “Kaoko™” long-range tank.

As a point of interest, the word Kaoko™ is Herero in origin, and refers to the vast and beautiful mountainous wilderness that is home to the Himba Tribe.
