Why you ask? I'm obsessed with being prepared for all situations without having to carry a rediculous amount of extra supplies. Having a survival strap on my wrist is a no brainer. Besides it makes me feel somewhat tough guy fashionable. I've seen fellow riders carry every thing imagineable in their panniers, top cases, tank bags, backpacks, tank panniers, bar bags, fender bags, fanny packs, and duffel bags. It actually gets a little out of hand. My goal is to try to get what I need, when I need it, as fast as possible without having to sort through mounds of equipment. I do believe that having a survial strap on my wrist is a very adequate start to alleviating the clutter.
We all know that a survival situation can occur when we least expect it, but the problem with a lot of survival equipment is that—outside of a pocket knife—not much of it is something you carry around with you from day to day. When's the last time you had 25 to 200 feet of paracord at the ready? The idea is to make the cord something that you want to wear or keep with you, and should the occasion arise, you can simply cut a length of the cord to suit your needs.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of all SurvivalStraps products goes to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that aids U.S. servicemen and women who have been wounded in combat.
